Covenant
"Hereby understand we the love of God, because Jesus laid
down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the
brethren." I John 3:16

A Covenant is a solemn agreement between two or more
persons or groups to do or not do a certain thing; an
agreement between a church and it's members, as for
maintaining it's faith, vision and purpose.

The Covenant: Having received Christ as my Lord and savior
and being ready to or having been baptized and being in
agreement with the vision, purpose and structure of New Life
Church, I acknowledge the leading of the Holy Spirit and
hereby unite with the New Life Church Family. In doing so I
commit myself to God and to the ministry of New Life Church.

1) I covenant to protect the unity of my church by
acting in love toward other members, following the teachings of
the Bible and refusing to gossip. Romans 14:9, I Peter 1:22,
Ephesians 4:29, II Timothy 3:16

2) I covenant to share the responsibility of my
church by praying for it's growth, inviting the
unchurched to attend, warmly welcoming those who visit, and
by dedication to the vision, purpose and mission of my church.
IThess. 1:1-2, Luke 14:23, Romans 15:7, Ephesians4:16

3) / covenant to serve the ministry of my church
by discovering my gifts and talents, being equipped, developing
a servants heart and thereby learning to serve, and by sharing
in the Pastor's belief that every Christian is a servant of the Lord and His church.
James 2:14-20, Peter 4:10, Eph. 4:ll-l2, Phii.2:3-4

4) I covenant to support the testimony of my
church by living a Godly life and by attending church
faithfully. Philippians 1:27, Hebrews 10:25

5) I covenant to obey the Pastors and leaders of
my church, understanding that they are responsible for
leading me in a closer and more meaningful relationship to
the Lord. Hebrews 13:17

6) I covenant to be a growing member of my
church by first allowing God, through His Spirit and
Word, to heal me of the stains of sin and equip me to do the
work of ministry; after which, I covenant to let God use
me in helping to heal and equip others. II Corinthians 5:17

7) I covenant to financially support my church
by being a financial blessing to the church according to the
word of god
